Location: Fully Remote, Philippines

Salary: $6 - $10 per hour based on experience

Schedule: Monday to Friday, Eastern Standard Time

Job Description:

As a Senior SQL Programmer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining SQL databases, writing optimized SQL queries, and ensuring data quality and integrity. The role also involves monitoring database performance, developing ETL processes, creating SSRS reports, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop solutions.

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience with SQL, including complex queries, subqueries, and stored procedures.
  • 5+ years of experience with database design and normalization.
  • 5+ years of experience with ETL tools such as SSIS.
  • Experience with SSRS and RDL report writing.
  • Experience with cloud-based databases, such as Azure, is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of fund accounting.
  • Experience with PFS-Paxus is a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience in requirements gathering and analysis.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of system and software quality assurance best practices and methodologies.
  • Ability to work independently through complex issues and apply professional judgment.
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills with attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

  • Write optimized SQL queries to retrieve, manipulate, and transform data.
  • Design, develop, and maintain SQL databases and tables.
  • Ensure data quality and integrity through testing, validation, and error-checking.
  • Develop and maintain ETL processes to move data between systems using tools such as SSIS.
  • Monitor SQL database performance and design maintenance processes to ensure reliability.
  • Create and maintain SSRS reports and tools.
  • Integrate SQL queries with Python and Power Automate.
  • Document database structures, queries, and processes for reference.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and develop database solutions.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for SQL-related issues.
  • Work with external consultants and contractors when required.

Successful candidates for this role will be rewarded with the following benefits:

  • A total of five paid vacation days per year (additional days can be taken unpaid).
  • A 5% raise per year guaranteed (additional raises or bonuses may be given for outstanding performance).
  • A paid 15-minute break for every 4 hours of work.
  • Healthcare benefits after 2 months of full-time employment.

* Vacation days increase by 1 vacation day per year. I.e. after one year of employment, the total paid vacation days on year 2 would be six, on year 3 seven, etc.
